Pursuant to § 24-18-113, C.R.S., there is a board of ethics for the general assembly that consists of four legislative members. Upon written request of a member of the general assembly, the board of ethics issues advisory opinions concerning issues relating to the requesting member's conduct and the provisions of article 18 of title 24, C.R.S., "Standards of Conduct".

Representatives must have attained the age of twenty-five years, be a United States citizen, and be a resident of the district from which the Representative is elected for at least twelve months prior to election. The entire membership of the House is elected biennially.
