BILL SUMMARY For HB18-1375

SENATE COMMITTEE ON JUDICIARY
Date Apr 30, 2018
Location SCR 352

HB18-1375 - Amended, referred to the Committee of the Whole - Consent Calendar

02:44:49 PM

Senator Gardner called the meeting to order.  He announced that SB 18-258 will be heard second instead of last and noted that the mental health competency bills will be heard together because of their related subject matter.

Senator Gardner explained HB18-1375, otherwise known as the Revisor's Bill.  He emphasized that the Revisor's Bill does not make any substantive changes but rather amends or repeals obsolete and imperfect language.

Senator Gardner distributed Amendment L. 005 (Attachment A).  Jennifer Gilroy, Office of Legislative Legal Services, explained that the amendment corrects mis-conforming language.

02:49:06 PM

Larry Sarner, representing the Colorado Citizens for Science in Medicine, testified in support of the bill but brought up a couple areas concerning incorrect references to naturopathic doctors (Attachment B).  Senator Gardner responded that he would look at the issue before second reading.
