and Representative Epps, co-prime bill sponsors, presented House Bill 24-1441,
concerning a technical correction to a reference to the number of members
serving on the State Board of Nursing (board). Senate Bill 23-167 added
a member to the board under the Department of Regulatory Agencies. House
Bill 24-1441 removes a reference to size of the board that was inconsistent
with this change.

Weinberg, prime resolution sponsor, presented House Concurrent Resolution
24-1003, concerning school choice in kindergarten through 12th grade education
system. The resolution refers a constitutional amendment to voters at the
2024 general election to establish the right of parents to direct the education
of their children through school choice. Representative Weinberg requested
that the resolution be postponed indefinitely.

Representative Marshall,
prime resolution sponsor, presented House Concurrent Resolution 24-1004,
concering limiting legislators appointed via vacancy committee from serving
consecutive terms. Under current law, a political party vacancy committee
selects the person to fill any vacancy in the state legislature. If approved
by voters at the 2024 election, the resolution would prohibit any state
representative or senator appointed by a vacancy committee from serving
the term immediately following the term for which they were appointed.
Representative Marshall responded to questions from the committee.
