concerning accessibility requirements for housing and modifying the standards
for accessible housing and updating the probition of unfair or discriminatory
housing practices against individuals with disabilites.  In addition,
the bill authorizes the court to extend the date for a court hearing when
the court receives a written request for a reasonable accomodation to prohibited
unfair housing practices.  The bill sponsors provided a handout (Attachment
B).

concerning protections for residential tenants.  The bill prohibits
landlords from considering certain information related to a tenant's income
and rental history and establishes a maximum amount for security deposits.
 In addition, the bill proposes allowing tenants to assert an affirmative
defense in an eviction proceeding that a landlord violated anti-discriminatory
housing laws.
