Senator Martinez Humenik, prime sponsor, presented House Bill 16-1077. The statutory revision committee (committee) was initially created in 1977 to investigate statutory defects, but was repealed in 1985. As amended by the House State, Veterans, and Military Affairs Committee, the bill recreates the eight-member committee in the Legislative Department and establishes guidelines for committee selection, composition, and procedures. Committee members received an updated summary of the bill, provided by Senator Martinez Humenik, (Attachment D).
