Senators Fields and Gardner, co-prime sponsors, presented House Bill 24-1225, concerning procedures in murder in the first degree cases, and, in connection therewith, an exception to the right to bail for cases of murder in the first degree when proof is evident or presumption is great. 

 

 

Senators Garder and Fields, co-prime sponsors, presented House Concurrent Resolution 24-1002, submitting to the registered electors of the state of Colorado an amendment to the Colorado constitution concerning creating an exception to the right to bail for cases of murder in the firest degree when proof is evident or presumption is great. 

The bill sponsors explained the need to amend the constitution and the relationship to to the previous bill, House Bill 24-1225.

Tim Lopez, representing themself, testified in support of the bill.

David Frost, representing Colorado Victims for Justice, testified in support of the bill.

Senator Gardner, prime sponsor, presented House Bill 24-1248, concerning the "Uniform Non-Testamentary Electronic Estate Planning Documents Act".  He distributed a fact sheet about the bill from the Uniform Law Commission (Attachment A).
