Define Tuition Status Unaccompanied Homeless Youth

Concerning the ability of unaccompanied homeless youth to determine domicile for purposes of in-state tuition status at institutions of higher education.

Bill Summary

The act adds unaccompanied homeless youth to the list of persons who are qualified to determine their own domicile for the purpose of establishing in-state tuition at state institutions of higher education. The status of an 'unaccompanied homeless youth', as defined in the act, must be verified by one of 4 verifiers listed in the act. In addition, the act amends the definition of 'qualified person' in the statutory provisions relating to tuition status to include unaccompanied homeless youth.
