of 2022 recommendations of the Colorado criminal juvenile justice commission
regarding sentencing provisions for offenses. Representative Weissman explained
the effect of the bill and discussed its need. Representative Weissman
responded to questions regarding the impact of the bill on the crime of
theft. Discussion ensued on this point. Representative Soper,
co-prime sponsor provided input on the merits of the bill. Aaron
Carpenter, Legislative Council Staff, responded to questions regarding
public benefit theft. Discussion followed regarding the crime of
intentionally practicing a regulated profession. Discussion turned
to a section of the bill concerning factors to be considered when filing

Discussion ensued regarding the provisions in the bill pertaining to firearms possession, and the potential to address certain crimes on the rise statistically. Ms. Cain responded to questions regarding what constitutes aggravated motor vehicle theft. Mr. Dougherty addressed questions raised during earlier discussion.
