The committee discussed whether to allow remote participation by members and presenters from departments during the SMART Act hearings, and what to do about the statutory deadlines for conducting the hearings. A copy of bill LLS No. 21-0706 was distributed to the committee for review (Attachment B). Committee members made comments about whether to conduct the SMART Act hearings using a fully remote or hybrid model and the interplay of remote versus in-person public testimony. 03:32:01 PM Ms. Burger answered questions from the committee.
