Representives Valdez
and Will, co-prime sponsors, introduced House Bill 22-1088 concerning peace
officer status for certain Department of Revenue employees. The bill
specifies that motor vehicle investigators and criminal tax enforcement
special agents are peace officers and must be certified by the Peace Officers
Standards and Training (POST) board. The bill also exempts the department
from the requirement to present legislation in the future seeking peace
officer status for motor vehicle investigars and criminal tax enforcement
special agents.
