Representatives Gray and Larson, co-prime sponsors, introduced House Bill 20-1322, concerning increased opportunities for the public to participate in the process by which the property tax administrator prepares certain property tax materials. Effective January 1, 2021, the bill requires the administrator to conduct a public hearing on proposed changes to property tax materials prior to submitting materials to the property tax administrator advisory committee. Notice of the hearing must be published and mailed to requestors. At the hearing, interested persons may submit information and the information must be considered. Interested persons may also request repeal, amendment, or issuance of materials. Notice about proposed changes must also be posted.
