Representatives Duran and Wist, co-prime sponsors, introduced House Bill 16-1404. The bill establishes the licensing and regulation of fantasy contest operators and defines a fantasy contest. The bill creates the Office of Fantasy Contests within the Division in Professions and Occupations in the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA). The office is established as a Type 2 agency and the office director must establish rules for conducting fantasy contests in the state and for the licensing of fantasy contest operators. Representative Wist distributed amendment L.008 (Attachment A). The sponsors answered several committee questions.
