called to order. A quorum was present. Representatives Epps and Mabrey,
prime sponsors, presented HB 24-1241, concerning aligning the threshold
for a comparable municipal offense to a state-level petty property crime
for the purposes of prohibiting a monetary condition of release. Representative
Epps explained the effect of the bill and discussed its need. Representative
Mabrey further discussed the merits of the legislation.

criminal charge associated with domestic violence.

in places of public accommodation. Representative Mabrey explained the
effect of the bill and discussed its need. Representative Mabrey also explained
the effect of amendment L.001 (Attachment B). Representative Soper further
discussed the bill and amendment. Representative Soper responded to questions
regarding the effect of amendment L.001, and the impact of the bill on
rental activities by nonprofit organizations. Representative Mabrey provided
input on the latter issue.

HB24-1251 - Referred to House Appropriations

and Mabrey, prime sponsors, presented House Bill 24-1251, concerning the
continuation of function related to the regulation of debt-management services,
and, in connection therewith, implementing the recommendations in the 2023
sunset report by the Department of Regulatory Agencies. The committee heard
testimony on the bill at its February 21 meeting. Representative Snyder
updated the committee on potential amendments to the bill. Representative
Mabrey discussed some associated legislation, and reacquainted the committee
with HB 24-1251.
