Brian Tobias, Department of Regulatory Agencies, explained the sunset process. He reviewed the sunset report on the Strategic Action Planning Group on Aging (Attachment A).  A copy of the related draft bill was distributed to the committee (Attachment B).

Jane Ritter, Office of Legislative Legal Services, stated that the sunset bills will be introduced without Senate sponsors due to the impending resignation of President Garcia.

Representative Michaelson Jenet stated that Representative Pico would like to be a prime sponsor on the sunset bill concerning the continuation of the regulation of speech-language pathologists, which was discussed at the committee's meeting on February 1, 2022.  Representative Michaelson Jenet explained that because Representative Pico is not a member of the committee a vote to allow him to be a co-prime sponsor was necessary.

Representative Boesencker and Representative Larson, co-prime bill sponsors, presented House Bill 22-1041, concerning restrictions on making public the personal information of protected persons at risk of threats.  The bill adds code enforcement officers to the list of people who may request to have personal information removed from government websites in certain circumstances. Representative Boesencker responded to questions from the committee.
