Dean Jonathan Samet, Colorado School of Public Health, presented a powerpoint to the committee on the report related to House Bill 21-1317, concerning the regulation of marijuana for safe consumption (Attachments A and B). He reviewed the tasks for Colorado School of Public Health listed in House Bill 21-1317. Dean Samet reviewed the Cannabis Research and Policy Project Team Members and the Scientific Review Council Members involved in the research related to House Bill 21-1317. He reviewed the elements of the reseach the Colorado School of Public Health is conducting on high-potency THC marijuana and marijuana concentrate. Dean Samet discussed the review timeline for the research and the next steps in the research being conducted.

Representative Bradfield, prime bill sponsor, presented House Bill 22-1143, concerning the continuation of the State Auxiliary Services Program to provide auxiliary services to state agencies. The bill requires the Colorado Commission for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind to continue the operations of the state auxiliary services program indefinitely and expand the program to include all state agencies, including the Governorâs Office. It establishes a new advisory board to oversee the implementation of the billâs requirements.
