The committee heard a presentation from History Colorado and the State Archives at its February, 2023 meeting. 01:44:05 PM Ms. Dawn DiPrince, History Colorado, discussed the history of the proposal which originated from a requirement of Senate Bill 22-012. 01:44:22 PM The committee members discussed options for the display and the potential associated costs. 01:53:46 PM Mr. Jason Hanson, History Colorado, responded to questions from the committee about the proposal. 01:58:12 PM Committee discussion continued over the potential display. Ms. DiPrince suggested associating the display with the uncoming statehood anniversary celebrations. 02:01:19 PM The committee asked History Colorado to prepare information considering several options for a display of the constitution in the Capitol. This fund is a source of revenue for the advisory committee and is generated through sales at the gift shop. She provided a handout of materials to the committee (Attachment A). 02:04:21 PM Natalie Castle, Director, Legislative Council Staff, discussed the current balance of the CBAC account within the Legislative Cash Fund. The committee receives funding each fiscal year from the executive committee to be used for special projects. Ms. Castle provided a handout to the committee (Attachment B). Staff Updates - Committee Discussion Only 02:15:35 PM Jeanette Chapman, Legislative Council Staff, discussed updates on the Biden presidential portrait, which is now complete. She discussed a potential historic preservation project for the committee to consider to paint the interior dome and rotunda. She introduced new CBAC staffer, Matt Becker. 02:17:33 PM Senator Court made comments on items of interest from Ms. Chapman's report. Updates on Capitol Security Projects - Committee Discussion Only 02:18:28 PM Richard Lee, Department of Personnel and Administration, updated the committee on the status of the bollard installation and the wedge barrier installation. The committee previously approved these projects and recommended them to the Capital Development Committee. While the bollards installation is almost complete, the wedge barrier installation is delayed due to engineering errors around the parking circle.
