10:10 AM -- General Overview of Advisory Task Force Recent Activities
Camille Harding and Susan Walton, co-chairs of the Advisory Task Force (Task Force), described the Task Force's recent activities to the committee. Ms. Harding explained that after the Task Froce's April retreat they created a new subcommittee focused on prevention, chaired by Ashley Tunstall. The Task Force is waiting for a white paper from Sex Offender Manage Board (SOMB) regarding juvenile records issues and is anticipating running legislation related to the topic after receiving recommendations from the SOMB. The competency restoration subcommittee meets every third Friday, and is currently exploring the potential creation of a juvenile definition of competency as well as trying to learn about the implementation of Senate Bill 17-012. Finally, the housing subcommittee is examining the issue of rental applications. Ms. Harding will present information about the data-sharing subcommittee later in the meeting because it's chair, Peggy Heil, is not available.
