Senator Aguilar introduced Senate Bill 17-033, concerning the authority of a professional nurse to delegate dispensing authority for over-the-counter medications. The bill allows a nurse to delegate to another person, after appropriate training, the dispensing authority of an over-the-counter medication to a minor with the signed consent of the minor's parent or guardian. It also allows nurse practitioners to delegate medical functions to a professional nurse or practical nurse, consistent with the medical plan prescribed by a physician, podiatrist, or dentist. She provided a handout to the committee (Attachment A) and responded to questions from the committee.

Senator Kerr introduced House Bill 17-1058, concerning reporting requirements by the Department of Personnel and Administration to the General Assembly. The bill repeals various reporting requirements for the Department of Personnel and Administration that are scheduled for repeal. Additionally, it indefinitely continues reporting requirements contained in various statutory sections.

Senator Tate introduced Senate Bill 17-127, concerning an expansion of the exemption from the requirements that apply to a mortgage loan originator to include up to three loans per year without compensation between family members. Under current law, parents who help to finance a child's mortgage loan are exempt from the mortgage loan originator regulations in state law. The bill expands the exemption to include any family member who helps to finance another family member for up to three loans per year, with or without interest compensation. The Board of Mortgage Loan Originators in the Department of Regulatory Agencies is directed to define "family member" by rule.
