Senator Hill invited Lorna Candler, Director
of the Division of Private Occupational Schools (DPOS) in the Colorado
Department of Higher Education, came to the table and introduced the appointee
to the Private Occupational School Board, Abbas Richard Behbehani.  Ms.
Candler provided background information about DPOS.  Mr. Behbehani
introduced himself to the committee and spoke about his personal, educational,
and professional background.  A copy of the Governor's appointment
letter can be found as [Attachment A].  Committee discussion ensued.

Senators Merrifeld and Martinez Humenik, co-sponsors, presented House Bill 18-1134 which concerns eligibility of kindergarten students funded through early childhood at-risk enhancement programs.

Bill Jaeger, representing the Colorado Children's Campaign, spoke in support of the bill.  Mr. Jaeger answered questions from the committee.
