The committee returned to order. Senator Aguilar and Senator Gardner, co-prime sponsors, presented House Bill 17-1284, concerning protecting at-risk adults from mistreatment by establishing a check of the Colorado adult protective services data system for persons employed to provide direct care to at-risk adults, and, in connection therewith, making an appropriation. Senator Aguilar distributed an informational handout to the committee (Attachment C), and explained the purpose of the bill. Senator Gardner explained the need for the bill and discussed its benefits. Senator Aguilar responded to committee questions on the bill.
