01:46 PM -- HB16-1396

Senator Hodge presented House Bill 16-1396 to the committee. The bill updates statutory references concerning a person's immigration status. Under current law, the terms alien or illegal alien are used; this bill replaces those terms with the term undocumented immigrant. The bill defines an undocumented immigrant as a person who is not a United States citizen and who is residing or present in the United States without official documents that authorize that person to enter, live in, or work in the country.
